IAT Level 1 – Learning Unit 1 Assessment (Copy) 2

The resources needed to complete this assessment are in your IAT Level 1 Course Manual, the Manual of Acupuncture App or Text Book and the Acupuncture Doll.

There are a number of ways in which meridians are paired. It is very important to be familiar with these connections so we can use them in a holographic manner. We can not emphasise enough, how important it is to understand how the meridians connect to each other and their respective pathways. To help you, follow the pathways of the twelve main meridians and the two Extra Vessels on your doll and then on your self or a study mate. Pay particular attention to where each meridian starts and ends.

You also need to integrate how the meridians relate to each other through various pairings:

  1. As yin yang pairs
  2. As pairs through their Chinese names

By going through the following questions you will hopefully assimilate this knowledge.

In the following assessment:

  • When naming points, use uppercase lettering for Meridian abbreviations followed by a space and the point number, eg: LU 7
  • When asked where a point is located, you are only required to give a general location like chest or big toe, not its precise location.
  • When giving the Chinese name of a Meridian, use the Hand/Foot name eg: Hand Tai Yin, not upper/lower limb name.
  • Please check your answers for typos/incorrect spelling before you submit - the assessment is marked automatically and typos will return incorrect results.
  • You will have the opportunity to re-submit the assessment until you get everything correct.
