Training
ASAP runs workshops, seminars and training programs for therapists once they have completed the entry level of training required by their professional body. Currently in the case of physiotherapists this is the Level 1 Integrative Acupuncture Training Program accredited and run through the Australian Physiotherapy Association or ASAP.
The ADNG (Acupuncture and Dry Needling Group) of the APA is in the process of developing its Career Pathway opportunities but unfortunately the APA is not investing in a vertical pathway towards titling for ADNG members. This is not to be confused with titling as an Acupuncturist for which currently there is no pathway other than through the Chinese Medicine Registration Board (CMRB).
ASAP will partner with course providers to allow physiotherapists opportunities to train in acupuncture. Its main partnership has been with Integrative Acupuncture Training.
