Acupuncture therapy has been increasingly utilised in the Oncology setting over the last 20 years. Acupuncture for Oncology patients is one of the most researched topics in acupuncture.
The quality and quantity of research on Acupuncture Oncology has steadily increased over the last 20 years, as has its application in Hospital and private clinical settings.
There is great interest from the medical profession in safe treatment options for the side effects of conventional Cancer treatment. Many of these side effects are without a satisfactory Medical treatment.
Acupuncture is showing promise in several conditions experienced by many cancer patients.  These include:

  • Peripheral Neuropathy
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Xerostomia (dry mouth)
  • Cancer related fatigue/low mood
  • Hot flashes
  • Cancer related cognitive impairment.
  • Diarrhoea and constipation.

During this presentation Glen will discuss acupuncture treatment methods and strategies for each of the above conditions, including palpation and points selection ideas, considerations regarding needle technique, and a review of several case histories.  Some relevant Oncology acupuncture research will be also be discussed.

Glen hopes each participant will gain ideas and treatment options that immediately apply to the clinical setting.
